Sponsoring Syrian refugees in Canada.

Canadians have three different ways to sponsor refugees:

Sponsorship Agreement Holders (SAHs). - Contact an established SAH is the fastest and easiest way to sponsor a refugee in Canada; many SAHs have sponsored refugees arrive in the country soon and that would benefit from community support on their arrival. The list of SAHs in Canada is regularly updated to take account of all groups and organizations that have signed sponsorship agreements with the Government of Canada;

Groups of five (G5) - These groups consist of at least five Canadian citizens or permanent residents who have taken steps and have the resources to sponsor a refugee living abroad, to bring them  to Canada. Please note that applications for new respondents who choose to form a G5 may take longer to treat than if they used other options. We encourage Canadians who wish to participate in sponsoring refugees to communicate with an established SAH.

Community sponsors (RC) - These organizations, associations or companies looking to sponsor a refugee. Again, please note that requests for new sponsors who choose to use this option may take longer to treat than if they used other options. We encourage Canadians who wish to participate in sponsoring refugees to communicate with an established SAH.

Many members of the Syrian community in Canada want to bring their family members to Canada, but not all have the financial means.
If you are ready to become a sponsor, the Syrian Family Links Initiative can help connect you with someone in your area who has identified a family member for sponsorship to come to Canada. Find out more about the Syrian Family Links Initiative.
For Groups of Five and Community Sponsors wishing to sponsor Syrian or Iraqi refugees, thedocumentation required for the sponsorship process has been temporarily reduced to make it easier for Canadians and Permanent Residents to sponsor refugees from the region.
Sponsors in Quebec: Quebec has its own process to sponsor refugees. Find more about refugee sponsorship in Quebec.
