Caring for children - Canada Caregiver Program.

Determine your eligibility – Caring for children:

To submit an application via the path - Babysitting, you must meet all the requirements listed below and must plan to live outside the province of Quebec.

Work experience.

Here are all the requirements you must meet to qualify for the access road - babysitting.

·         You must have accumulated at least 24 months of full time work experience in Canada as a child care provider at home over the last four years (48 months) prior to submitting your application.

o   For full-time work means at least 30 hours of paid work per week.
o   There may be periods of interruption of employment (for example, periods of unemployment, and long periods of illness or parental leave).
o   Any work experience you had as a full time student cannot be counted as work experience.



·         Your work experience as a provider of child care services must match the definition in the National Occupational Classification (NOC ) 4411 Basic Group.
o   Foster parents are not eligible
·         You must demonstrate that you have fulfilled the functions listed in the 4411 description of profession , including most major and ALL the essential functions
·         The functions whose implementation is "as necessary" are generally not considered to be core functions


·         You must have kept children under 18 years, at your home or the home of your employer.
·         To be eligible, it is not necessary to have lived in your employer's home


If you do not demonstrate that your work experience meets the definition in the description of the NOC occupation, your application will be denied.

Language skills.

You must:

·         Demonstrate your ability to speak, read, listen and write in English or French
·         Pass language tests from an organization approved by Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC);
·         Reach the minimum threshold of proficiency, the level 5 of the Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLB) (use your test results to establish your CLB), and
·         Attach the original of your language test results when you apply
·         Your language test results must be dated within two years on the day CIC receives your application.

When you submit your application, if you do not provide the original of your results showing language tests that you have the minimum required level, your application will not be processed; it will be returned.

Education.

You must have:

·         Completed a Canadian post-secondary degree at least one year,
OR

·         Completed a foreign degree, as well as the original credential evaluation studies (EDS) by an organization approved by Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) showing that it is equivalent to a diploma studies Canadian post-secondary for a period of at least one year.

When you submit your application, if you do not provide proof of the satisfaction of the minimum requirement of studies, your application will not be processed; it will be returned.

Inadmissibility

Some people are inadmissible - they are not allowed to enter Canada. There are several reasons why we may prohibit you from entering Canada, as being involved in criminal activity, in violations of human rights or organized crime.

You may also be inadmissible for reasons of safety, health or financial reasons.

If you are inadmissible to Canada, you should not apply for the access road - babysitting.
